Back in the studio after, well, after quite some time.
It has been a while. Okay, it's been a really long while since I was in a recording studio and, you know, recorded me playing my 80s vintage Gretsch set.
It was mid-summer 2018 and Tate, my musical cohort, asked me if I was interested in volunteering for a recording project devoted to a worthy cause. It was a composition dedicated to the memory of the Parkland shooting victims, and my opinion on gun control did not come to bear for my participation in this worthy endeavor. Tate had been previously involved in corporate gigs with the composer of the tune.
Jeff Jacob wrote "One Month Later" reacting to the generally ineffective lip service politicians give us after a horrific event like this occurs; an event which seems to be repeating itself in this country at an alarming rate.
We recorded at 42nd Street Studios in Oakland Park, FL; four pro-level musicians with day jobs. Four guys intent on doing their best and enjoying the moment. Jeff Jacob - rhythm guitar, lead vocal and composer , Jeff Maldonado - lead electric guitar and backing vocal, Tate Earle - bass and electric guitar, and yours truly, Jose Martinez on drums. I think it turned out pretty damn good.
Please listen, and pay respect...
